What are Wind Turbines? And Why Do They Need Magnets?
Imagine a big fan, but instead of making wind, it uses the wind to make power! That’s a wind turbine!
- The wind turns the big blades.
- The blades turn a special part inside called a generator.
- The generator uses magnets to make electricity!
It’s like magic, but it’s science! The magnets spin around, and that makes the power you use in your home, your farm, your wind-solar hybrid farms, or your city! Permanent magnet generators are key to making this happen.
We are a Neodymium Magnets Factory and are experts on magnets for wind turbines!.
Why Our NdFeB Magnets are the BEST for Wind Turbines
There are different kinds of magnets. But NdFeB magnets (that’s short for Neodymium Iron Boron) are the strongest!
Here’s why you should pick our NdFeB magnets:
What Makes Our Magnets Great? | What Does it Mean for You? |
---|---|
Super Strong | More power from even a little wind! |
Last a Long Time | You don’t have to change them often! |
Not Too Expensive | Saves you money in the long run! |
Work when it’s warm | Thermal stability is a MUST! |
We make sintered neodymium magnets, the most renewable energy component available. That means they are super good at keeping their magnetic flux density even if its warm. That means consistentcy–you get the best wind turbine efficiency using our magnets! Other, weaker magnets, like Ferrite or Alnico, just can’t do that! SmCo magnets are ok, but expensive. Our NdFeB magnets are the best choice!

Picking the Right Magnet for Your Wind Turbine
You need to pick the right magnet for the job. It’s like picking the right size shoe!
Here is important stuff to know:
- Magnet Grade: What is the wind-to-electricity ratio? We have different grades, like N35, N42, N52, up to different Magnet grading (N35, N52)! The higher the number, the stronger the magnet. You need to pick one that’s strong enough for your turbine, but not too strong! You want the most cost-per-watt bang for your buck!
- Working when warm: Wind turbines used Off-grid wind systems and in 12V/24V wind generators can get hot! Some magnets lose their power when they get hot. We add special stuff (like Dysprosium, the Dysprosium additives, mentioned in the big words) to our magnets so they work great in hot locations, even in the sun! You want magnets for offshore wind systems? You need the best magnet grading!
- Shape: Magnets can be different shapes. For wind turbines, we usually make them into curved pieces, like slices of a pie! This helps stop power loss (it’s called “eddy current losses” in the big words).
- Hybrid solar-wind systems: have special needs. Talk to us to make sure you get the right magnets!
We can make custom magnets just for you! Magnet Coating is important, and whatever your Magnet Grade needs are, we have you covered. Just tell us what you need!
Real-Life Stories of Our Magnets Helping People
Let’s look at some real stories of how we have magnets out making power.
Story 1: The Big Wind Farm in the Ocean
- Problem: The wind turbines in the ocean were getting rusty because of the salty water! Offshore corrosion is a real problem.
- What We Did: We made special NdFeB magnets with a special coating to stop the rust, reducing demagnetization risks. We also make fault-tolerant designs!
- Result: The wind turbines last much longer, saving money for operators. The wind farm grid integration has never been better!
Story 2: The Small Wind Turbine Helping a Village
- Problem: A village needed power, but there wasn’t much wind.
- What We Did: We made special, high-coercivity optimization magnets that work great even with a little bit of wind.
- Result: The village got power for lights and phones, even on calm days! Story 3: Helping on Farms
- Problem: Farms need to do wind resource mapping.
- What We did: We used our magnets that have outstanding Magnet coercivity to map wind resources and ensure efficient wind turbine prototyping.
- Result: Farms know where to put wind turbines to get the best results.!
