What are Neodymium Magnets?

How Do Magnets Help Wind Turbines?

These wind turbines don’t have gears. The rotor is connected right to the generator. NdFeB magnets are very good for direct-drive wind turbines. They make the generator spin strong without gears. These are low maintenance generators.

Making NdFeB magnets is like baking a cake:

1. Mix the Ingredients: We mix neodymium, iron, and boron.
2. Bake it: We heat the mix in a special oven. This is called sintering.
3. Shape it: We cut the magnet into the right shape. We can make any shape!
4. Coat it: the magnit will have Magnetic field alignment.
5. Magnetize it: We make it a magnet with a strong magnetic field.
