What is a Magnet?

A magnet is something that pulls some metals. This pull is called magnetism. It’s like a magic trick, but it’s science! Magnets have a magnetic field. You can’t see it. But it’s there! The magnetic field has lines. These are magnetic field lines.

Magnets have two ends. They are called poles. One is the north pole. The other is the south pole. North and south like each other. They pull. North and north push away. So do south and south.
