China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Three Other Departments: Completion of Standard Evaluation and Optimization for Rare Earth and Other Industries
December 18, 2024
The action plan emphasizes further optimization of the standards system. It aims to complete the evaluation and optimization of standards in industries such as petrochemicals, chemicals, steel, non-ferrous metals, building materials, rare earths, and gold. A sector-specific standards system will be established to support the high-quality development of the raw materials industry.
The plan focuses on advancing green and low-carbon standards, particularly by drafting and revising standards related to green and efficient mining, recycling materials, and the utilization of industrial solid waste or by-products in the fields of non-ferrous metals, rare earths, and gold.
Additionally, efforts will be made to cultivate standards for new material products. Priority areas include ultra-high-purity metal and alloy targets/evaporation materials, shape memory alloys, high-end polyolefins, electronic gas separation membrane materials, battery membrane materials, optical film materials, photovoltaic film materials, bio-based new materials, specialty coatings, specialty adhesives, new catalysts, high-end reagents, rare earth hydrogen storage materials, rare earth magnetic materials, rare earth optical functional materials, reflective glazes, new energy composite metal materials, and new energy battery materials.
